Upon returning to Fahren, Mugen would enact the first of his plans, invading the Knights of Delta headquarters to steal the Arcane Delta-Rise Driver from Kaoru Okada. Mugen responds by conjuring a distraction and would disappear. However, Aya would aim her gun at him, asking if he's got anything to do with the new monsters. Mugen would later take action after another Gehennos attack, using his summoned sword to fight off the monster, before convincing it to return to Fahren. When she runs into a Nameless Gehennos, he nearly got himself involved, though Aya Ichinose's intervention lets him stay in the shadows for longer. Mugen first appears observing Remu Aiba as she tries to go on about her day. He would later spend the next 100 years observing humanity's peace and progress in the continent, vowing to help maintain it due to his eventual love for the lands. However, he miraculously survived due to his unique ability of releasing himself from the Symbol. He was later released and was tasked to invade the Fahren State at the height of the Gehennos Wars, but his forces eventually fell during the battle and was believed to have been sealed inside the Arcane Symbol by one of the Seven Legendary Riders. Genichi was the only one who survived, where he became the very first Gehennos who learned how to control the Arcane Gates. Instead, he was a normal human who was forcefully experimented on by Crollo's scientists 100 years ago, among many other test subjects. Originally born Genichi Yotsuba, Mugen was unlike the other Major Gehennos who were born as a result of a Ventune.
